Leur principe de fonctionnement est le suivant :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Effet photovolta\u00efque : L'effet photovolta\u00efque d\u00e9signe l'absorption de l'\u00e9nergie photonique par les \u00e9lectrons lorsque la lumi\u00e8re brille sur des mat\u00e9riaux semi-conducteurs, provoquant le saut des \u00e9lectrons de la bande de valence vers la bande de conduction, g\u00e9n\u00e9rant ainsi des paires \u00e9lectron-trou. De cette mani\u00e8re, des flux d'\u00e9lectrons et de trous se forment dans le semi-conducteur, g\u00e9n\u00e9rant ainsi du courant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Jonction PN : les panneaux solaires sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement compos\u00e9s de deux couches de mat\u00e9riaux semi-conducteurs dop\u00e9s diff\u00e9remment afin de former une jonction PN. Parmi celles-ci, la r\u00e9gion P est riche en charges positives (trous) et la r\u00e9gion N est riche en charges n\u00e9gatives (\u00e9lectrons).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Absorption de la lumi\u00e8re : la surface du panneau solaire est recouverte d'une couche absorbant la lumi\u00e8re, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement compos\u00e9e de silicium. Lorsque la lumi\u00e8re du soleil frappe cette couche, l'\u00e9nergie des photons est absorb\u00e9e, ce qui excite les paires \u00e9lectron-trou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. S\u00e9paration des charges : les paires \u00e9lectron-trou excit\u00e9es par la lumi\u00e8re seront s\u00e9par\u00e9es sous l'action du champ \u00e9lectrique de la jonction PN. Les \u00e9lectrons se d\u00e9placeront vers la r\u00e9gion N et les trous vers la r\u00e9gion P, formant ainsi un courant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Sortie de courant : en connectant des fils, le courant est tir\u00e9 des p\u00f4les positif et n\u00e9gatif du panneau solaire, qui peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 pour l'alimentation \u00e9lectrique ou le stockage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En r\u00e9sum\u00e9, le principe de fonctionnement des panneaux solaires consiste \u00e0 utiliser l'effet photovolta\u00efque pour convertir la lumi\u00e8re solaire en \u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique, puis \u00e0 s\u00e9parer les paires \u00e9lectron-trou photoexcit\u00e9es \u00e0 travers le champ \u00e9lectrique de la jonction PN afin de former un courant de
